ÁLFRÚN LAUFEYJARDÓTTIR

 

The daughter of an actress and a director, Icelandic-born Álfrún was raised in the theatre and on film sets, and has been singing, acting, and dancing from an early age. She started her career as a child actress doing commercials and short films, before quickly graduating to her first roles in feature films. In her teens, Álfrún studied drama at the Tara Performing Arts High School in Boulder, Colorado - and she participated in multiple theatre productions during her time there. Her television credits include the crime drama CASE, and the mini-series MANNERS by writer María Reyndal, in which she played the role of TINNA. Previous film work includes: the character of 'Helga' in the highly regarded drama LET ME FALL which was directed by Baldvin Zophoníasson - and which was a huge success at the Icelandic box office; DEAD SNOW 2 by Tommy Wirkola; ICELAND IS BEST by writer/director Max Newsom; and as 'Alda' in the critically-acclaimed Icelandic feature film AGNES JOY which is directed by Silja Hauksdóttir. Álfrún can be seen playing the key role of ‘Astrid Olofsdotter’ in Netflix & MGM’s epic series VIKINGS: VALHALLA.
