BIRGIR DAGUR
Birgir was born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland. He showed an early interest in theatre and performance which was enthusiastically encouraged by his family. While attending school, he decided to go to an open audition for a role in the film BEAUTIFUL BEINGS which was being developed by director Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson, and following that meeting, he ended up being cast in the lead role of ‘Addi’. His subsequent experiences working on the film have only deepened his passion for the craft, and furthered his ambition to continue to refine it. Having premiered at Berlin Film Festival, both the film and Birgir’s performance in it have drawn critical acclaim, and it has been selected as Iceland’s Academy Award submission for 2023. Birgir has recently been working on a new television series entitled WHITE LIES by Dominque Gyða Sigrúnardóttir. He continues his studies in High School, and is certain to continue making waves as one of Iceland’s most promising young actors.
