"My Favourite Fabric" (Mon tissu prefere) has premiered at Cannes Film Festival. Starring Manal Issa, and directed by Syrian writer-director Gaya Jiji, it has been nominated for both Un Certain Regard, and the Golden Camera Award.

The film is set in Damascus during the Arab Spring, and Manal stars as "Nahla", a young woman who yearns for escape from her suffocatingly conventional life.
