“Give Me Liberty” starring Darya Ekamasova announced for Cannes Directors’ Fortnight

“Give Me Liberty” starring Darya Ekamasova, and directed by Kirill Mikhanovsky, has been announced as part of the lineup at this year’s Directors’ Fortnight taking place in Cannes next month.

Darya plays the role of ‘Sasha’ in the film, which is a dark comedy set in Milwaukee, and which is written by Alice Austen.

Synopsis: When a riot breaks out in America’s most segregated city, medical transport driver Vic is torn between his promise to get a group of elderly Russians to a funeral and his desire to help Tracy, a young black woman with ALS.

This year’s festival runs from Tuesday the 14th May, to Saturday the 25th of May.
