SELOME EMNETU
Selome is a graduate of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. She has worked extensively in the National Theatre, of which she is a permanent member, in productions as diverse as: the titular role in MEDEA, directed by Kjersti Horn; as ‘Laura’ in PEOPLE, PLACES, & THINGS; AS YOU LIKE IT directed by Sigrid Srøm Reibo; ARMANI I LICHT UND LIBE by Trine Falch; and as ‘Clarence’ & ‘Ratcliffe’ in RICHARD III. Her on-screen performances have proven to be equally as varied with film & television credits including: the role of ‘Asha Sørensen’ in the crime drama SEIZURE; AS I FALL directed by Magnus Meyer Arnesen; the leading role of ‘Aurora’ in NOVEMBEROSLO; and as ‘Signe’ in Dag Johan Haugerud’s highly acclaimed drama BEWARE OF CHILDREN - which went on to win numerous awards on the worldwide festival circuit, including 9 Amanda Awards. Selome is perhaps best-known to international audiences for her breakout recurring role as ‘Hilde Djupvik’ in Jo Nesbø’s political thriller series OCCUPIED.
